About Us

About the Foundation

Good health, like good fortune, is a gift that we often take for granted. It's when our health is threatened and twists of fate test our will that we are truly grateful for better times, and for those who help us through the difficulties that lay in our path. We cannot predict what lies beyond the next turn, but we can trust that once there, we will find skilled and compassionate caregivers to guide us back to good health and good fortune.

Access to healthcare, both preventive and restorative, is essential to everyone. It is only natural that the people who can benefit from advanced medical services take the lead in supporting their community healthcare institution.

The Lakeland Regional Medical Center Foundation was created in 1971 to ensure that additional resources are always available for the services that make Lakeland Regional the healthcare provider of choice for Lakeland, Polk County and the surrounding communities. The Foundation provides for the important extras that make LRMC special, and frequently for the advances that keep Lakeland Regional on the leading edge of care and technology.

The Foundation’s philosophy is one of involved, empowered philanthropy as we encourage donors:

  • To be hands on
  • To learn about and continue to follow the impact of their gifts
  • To help drive future philanthropy programs
  • To be partners with the Foundation in building awareness and in helping to improve community health
